Career Pathways to Success
This is a comprehensive program that integrates education, skill development, practical experience, and leadership training to empower youth ages 14-24 to not only secure sustainable employment but also to emerge as confident and capable leaders in their chosen fields.
Below are the focal points of the program:
- 21st Century Skills – Obtaining the knowledge, life skills, career skills, habits, and traits that are critically important to success in today’s society.
- Academic Assistance – Identifying academic areas of concern and assisting with overcoming learning obstacles
- College Readiness – Developing the set of skills, behaviors, and knowledge needed before you must enroll in their first year of college.
- Post Secondary Education – Education that follows the successful completion of secondary education and leads to a vocation.
- Workforce Readiness – Developing personal qualities, people skills, and professional traits that are desirable and necessary to acquire and maintain employment.
- Hands-On Work Experience – Planned, structured learning experiences that provide the youth participant with opportunities for career exploration and skill development and that take place in a workplace for a limited period of time.
- Leadership Development – Opportunities, including community service and peer‐centered activities encouraging responsibility and other positive social and civic behaviors.
- Financial Literacy – Supporting the ability of participants to create budgets, initiate checking and savings accounts at banks, and make informed financial decisions.
- Mentoring – Formal relationship between a youth participant and an adult mentor that includes structured activities where the mentor offers guidance, support, and encouragement to develop the competence and character of the mentee.
- Counseling – Assistance with connecting with a provider that will work with the youth to identify any potential barriers and learn techniques to successfully overcome them.
- Entrepreneurial Skills Training – Learning the basics of starting and running a small business.
